Fave Mom Made Biz #4- StripedShirt Giveaway!

by farrah on January 9, 2012 · 52 comments

I have a new fave, and it’s StripedShirt.com. I wish I could remember how I stumbled upon the blog of The Colorado Mountain Mom, because I’d really like to thank that person. Not only did I discover a cute new blog and meet its lovely owner, but I also discovered these absolutely fantastic shirts through a giveaway she was hosting. I should mention I ended up winning it- which is how THIS review and giveaway came to be- since when I received my shirt I was so blown away I had to have one for you guys.

Here’s a little bit about Striped Shirt:

At stripedshirt.com, we believe women, kids and babies should be able to support their teams, (literally) show their colors, without looking like “facepainters.”
Introducing the stripedshirt: fun, fashionable fan-wear built just for you with two color combination stripes to match your team.

And here’s a little about Laura, the mom behind the biz:

On the brink of turning 40, I left behind an 18 year career in PR, and started down the Tshirt path.  This from years of complaining, for myself, and then for my 2 daughters, that there should be a cute, stylish way to support your team, show your colors.  And after years of wearing my own versions of stripedshirts, being a long time lover of the horizontal stripe.  And so, voila, stripedshirt.  The PR girl goes fashion.  We’ll see how it goes!

Let me first start by saying that these aren’t your average sport team t-shirts. They’re very nice- from the quality of the material- to the classy little striped t emblem at the bottom. The shirts have a nice round neck and the length is fantastic for moms. As her site promises ‘No muffin tops here!’ You’re covered! The shirts are long and lean and hit right at the bottom of my hip. It is NOT a boxy man t- shirt. Nope. These are made for our curves. Here is the Cranberry & Gray which is what I chose.

And here it is in action with my favorite almost-three-year-old (note we are wearing long sleeved white t’s underneath)

We wore them to a birthday party today at a very busy inflatable/bounce house type place and I received some pretty nice compliments on them. Besides that- it was pretty easy to pick out my hooligan among the throng of running and jumping hooligans just at a quick glance. I mean, all I had to do was look for my twin. If you’re thinking this is silly, it’s so brief in the lives of your children that you can do cute things like wear matching shirts. It may look a little strange if you’re dressing alike once they’re in college..so I’m just sayin’- DO IT NOW. I highly encourage you to check out the action shots on her site- they’re awesome.

These will make a perfect and unique gift for that new mom who has just about everything, or a second or third timer that is being polite and refusing all offers of a baby shower.

Connect: Connect with Striped Shirts on Facebook, Twitter, and ShirtShorts (the blog).

Buy it:  You can purchase directly from the Striped Shirts website.

Win it! One lucky reader can win a Mom & Me set of 2 shirts. All you gotta do is tell me which color combo you would like for you and your little one.  —-I emailed the winner. She has 48 hours to reply! Thank you EVERYONE for participating!!

Oh girl you know I want the black and gold even though they don’t make it yet – but I voted for it! So if I won, I’d get the green and white. Because Bugs and I look totally awesome in green!

Um, I am partial to green and white myself as I went to Michigan State. In this instance however, my hubs in in the minority with clothing support (He went to Michigan) so I went totally random and picked sort of OSU!

Good luck!

THX for the striped love!! Appreciate! We have all eight remaining NFL team colors represented, and 22 of the top 25 NCAA men’s basketball teams. Not to mention red and white looking so cute for Valentine’s Day, and green and white for St. Pats. I totally agree too – match your kids while you can! My girls actually don’t mind being a striped threesome, and I can spot em in a minute, wherever they are!

What a perfect idea! I love the length of the T and the idea of it hiding my muffin top!?! I’m in! Fingers crossed.

Can’t say enough good things about these comfy, high quality, cute fitting shirts! My 6 year old daughter and I have matching red-and-white … and I have to get right on the laundry once they’re dirty, because she requests that we wear them together frequently! Too cute.

Incidentally, I got to go on my Annual Date Night (a.k.a. my Anniversary!) last weekend. My daughter begged to pick my outfit. You guessed it: I wore red and white stripes on my big night out! 😉 I have a really cute red jacket, so it all came together nicely.

Oh, and I am the crazy “Colorado Mountain Mom” … ha! I’m a huge Disney Fanatic – so we will be wearing our stripes proudly the next time we are in a crowded theme park, to track each other!

11 Shannon W. January 9, 2012 at 9:16 pm

Either the red and white or the green and white shirt!

12 AmyH January 9, 2012 at 11:24 pm

I can’t decide! Navy and white maybe, or green and white which were my school colors. Yep, def. green, we have enough blue in this house for Joe’s team!

13 Danielle January 10, 2012 at 12:34 am

I particularly love the green or blue. However, since everyone continues to tell me what a cute little boy I have (even though I have a girl), I’ll go with the red and white. Love the pic of you and your son. The matching shirts are adorable!
