Week In Review: #iPPP

by farrah on November 28, 2012 · 35 comments

I am so happy to be back in the #iPPP linkup once more! I finally got a phone this past week (I think I went three weeks without one?) and was absolutely gleeful at the ability to grab snapshots of some of the sights here in Oisterwijk. So without a bunch of jibber jabber, here you go!

Β Top left: I am in LOVE with my new coffee maker. Keurig who? This sucker is a Senseo and beats the pants off my old Keurig. Plus the pods are way cheaper. Top right: The bar 75 steps from our house. Very local, very cozy. Bottom left: Teeter-tottering at the neighborhood playground. Bottom right: Our first meeting with the expat club. FYI, bowling with 3 little kids can be hazardous to everyone’s health.

To date, this is probably my favorite photo and I can’t wait to print it off and hang it. We decided to decorate our walls with pictures of places we have been while we are here- and this is a perfect shot of our village and the awesomeness of their sense of style and architecture. I love these doors.

Β A sneak peek inside our house. This is the front window facing the street. My boys like the new little nook that I created just for them.Β

I snapped this yesterday walking to the city center. It is a beautiful big old church in the middle of the village.Β

For now, that’s al I have! We are shooting with House Hunters this weekend- the same time as when our freight is arriving. This will be interesting and crazy I’m sure- but I hope to get more pics of the crazy time to share with you all.

Thank you again to Greta & Julie for the most fabulous photo linkup in all the land!

Looks amazing! And your front window reminds me so much of the one I had, I do love Dutch homes.

OMG I can’t even tell you how cheerful this post was to me. I think it is so amazing to have an experience like this even with all the stress. 75 steps!!!!!!! are you kidding me!!! AMAZING!
I just love it and can’t wait to keep following you through this adventure!
Gotta love great architecture too. I hate that the US has gotten so cookie cutter πŸ™

It’s really a huge change for us. We were in a subdivision where they all looked alike- and we were far from a main road. So much change! Glad you’re along for the ride πŸ™‚

Great pictures!
Also – we used to have a Senseo when we lived in Germany, best coffee maker EVER. I found one here in Canada, but it’s just sooooo expensive here, including the pods that I decided my husband has to drink Tim Hortons coffee (I don’t really drink coffee).

Are there? I don’t remember even seeing the Senseo pods. But WAY cheaper and dude- foam! I love this thing!

It’s like you’re living in a fairytale. I mean, next door to a bar? That’s the stuff dreams are made of. πŸ˜‰

The door photo is absolutely gorgeous! You may want to consider sell photo rights to some of these great photos that we could hang in our places!!! So happy you got a camera and that your stuff is arriving.

It looks amazing over there! I can’t wait to see more photos! The picture of the boys on the teeter totter is the cutest and I can’t even imagine what bowling was like with the three of them! I’m surprised there were not any broken toes from balls being dropped on anyone’s feet.
And…yippeee!!!!! The filming is this weekend!!!! I’m so excited!!!

I was cringing the whole time- waiting for a disaster! B is insisting now that his birthday party is at the bowling alley- so there’s still time for an emergency.

What awesome, awesome pics!! And while I’m faithful to my beloved Keurig, my brother SWEARS by his Senseo. And he’s a coffee snob the way you can be when you’re 23 & single πŸ˜‰

Dude- it rocks. No kidding- he’s right on, and I feel like I need my 5 years with my Keurig back.

Great pictures! I hope you are adjusting to life overseas. I too am jealous you live that close to a pub.

Thanks! We’re getting there, a little more each day. Yes- having a pub that close (being a pub, no drunken slobs staggering around) is awesome!

AHHH House Hunters. I’m a huge HGTV groupie — yes, had to let that nerd fact about me slip. So exciting for me to know that you will be on the show. And I had been wondering about you? Funny how blogging buddies will drift through my mind every now and then. Wondered if you had made the move. So glad you are settled in your new life and it looks so beautiful. Can’t wait to follow along.

I feel the same way- wonder about people and how they’re doing too… we are good. I think they said 4-6 months after the shoot, so I’ll let you know!

Thanks Tara! It’s a nice feeling being away- but also being able to connect. I feel more grounded and less in limbo- you know?

Gorgeous photos! I *really* love that coffee shot. Beautiful, really. Plus, now I want coffee.

So cool that you’re going to be on House Hunters! I can’t wait to see how you felt about the experience. I watch that show a lot at night when I’m trying to go to sleep. I love seeing how other people live in different areas of the country. (and now, world.)
