Winner, Great Causes & Updates

Tuesday. We’ve almost made it through this two-week break from school, but I have to admit I am so ready for the guys to go back. It’s kind of a double edge sword though- because I hate the chaos of the morning on school days and I loathe being rushed. I like hanging out with the boys and watching our ‘toons over cereal- until, well- oh say 9am. At that point it’s like ‘We need a plan for the day. Stat.’

I have no plan for today- blog wise or otherwise, so here we go with a big ‘ol brain dump and some random pretty pics from our walk around Oisterwijk yesterday.

First, I want to thank everyone for participating in the Country Outfitter giveaway and congratulate Lauren on her win 🙂 She has been verified and contacted as of yesterday so I apologize for the delay.h1

Second-I want to take a moment and beseech my readers from across the globe. Last night I read a blurb by one of my favorites- Leigh Ann of Genie In A Blog. She linked a post about a very sick little boy who had dreams of seeing the world but cancer has made travel an impossibility. The mom is asking for people to send her son postcards so that he might be able to see the world through our eyes. If you get a second, please check out the post and participate wherever you might be!

Third- I hope you can check out my Travel Mamas post today talking a little more in-depth about Hostelling International and the two experiences that we had in Germany.  I really, really want you to consider staying in a hostel if you get the chance. We were blown away!

Finally, I wrote a post with Expats Blog on what it’s like being at B’s school. Most recently I helped out during the festivities prior to Queen’s Day and oh what a time that was. That day really helped me see even more clearly how awesome B really is for handling it so well. Do I think my entry is a contest winner? No. But it’s accurate and descriptive as to what we deal with in a Dutch language school.

Bonus Blurb: I have no update on House Hunters. I am tempted to email them and ask if it was a canned episode or what. Secretly I don’t mind if it never airs- but I really would love to have the DVD for posterity. I think it will be hard for me to watch the back story in SC anyhow.

Photos: top- Saint Peter’s church in Oisterwijk, middle: A neighbor in a traditionally Dutch home for our neighborhood, bottom: Leaning house. Pretty, eh?

What do you have on tap for the rest of the week? Is the weather finally nice where you are too?!

Beautiful weather here, but I’m not feeling well so I’m spending most of the day inside. Were you filmed for House Hunters? That’s pretty cool! A house that we were “flipping” was filmed for a show on A&E or something and it took forever to air. I think it’s normal and annoying.

Oh no! I hope you’re better soon enough to enjoy the weekend! And I am absolutely thrilled with the weather. It’s better than I have imagined! –And yep- we filmed with House Hunters International back in December. They told us 3-5 months and we just hit the 6 month mark. I heard from them not too long ago asking for more photos so who knows! We don’t even get the channel so I worry that it will air without us knowing 🙂

I love when you post pictures. They are always so beautiful. I’ve also been wondering about HHI. I can imagine it being difficult to watch, you might be better off. However, if you do contact them, I look forward to watching. I love reading about your expat adventures and all of your other posts on other blogs.

Danielle you are such a great friend. Thank you for supporting me 🙂 And I can’t take credit for the pics you know. This place just has a magical quality about it. I might give them one more week and drop them an email but we shall see….
