Have Naps… Will Travel

by farrah on July 28, 2013 · 19 comments

My ย friend Alicia has a seriously funny blog called ‘Naps Happen‘. She compiles photos of naps taken in the most unlikely of places and has inspired me to keep tabs upon our own naps that happen while on the road.

But not just anywhere.ย Oh no. Not for my twins. When the need calls- there is no stopping my boys from catching their beauty sleep.

Be it in Disney World meeting Pluto…

Or near a canal in the city of Amsterdam…

Possibly experiencing the coolest cheese shop ever in Delft…

And most recently in Paris in front of the Notre Dame Cathedral…

And at a famous canal in Ghent, Belgium!

So someday when my kids are older and complaining that we never do anything fun- you can bet that I’m going to whip out this post here and say ‘Oh really? Well….’

I look forward to more traveling naps and can’t wait to see where they will be! I suppose they bring new meaning to ‘sleeping their way through Europe..’

Where’s the strangest place your kid has napped while you’re traveling?

Sweet, yes- but those things are the bane of our house! We’ve gotten it to the point of only naps and bed- but when they lose it in the middle of the night…. oy.

๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for stopping in!

I love it (and not just for the amazing shout out). My parents like to remind me how much we complained about/were bored by our own travels around Europe at the ages of about 5 through 7. I’m sure they’re right. I doubt we appreciated about 98% of what they so energetically showed us. However, in my mind, I saw everything and loved it! Maybe they’ll think they met Pluto and it’ll be like they did?

The nap in the cheese shop is too funny. My son never naps on the go, especially if there is cheese around.

Hahah! I know. Someday they’ll wish we had one of those wheels around.

These are too funny. My Little Man almost started napping on the go in Cologne today – but once we said we were going to the Chocolate Museum, he perked right up!

Mine most recently fell asleep half on the couch and half off. Not sure how comfy that was.

Isn’t it funny? They were crammed in there together for a while, so maybe they’re just used to it ๐Ÿ™‚

Ha! Do they always fall asleep at the same time?!

Pretty much. Which is equally as good as it is bad!

I am super jealous of your travels, but I am almost equally jealous of the ability to nap like that. So peaceful.

Me too. Or the ability to say ‘Screw this. I’m taking a nap.’
