Instagram Travel: Center Parc Love

Once again I’m linking up with Katja at Skimbaco Lifestyle and some other fine travel bloggers for Instagram Travel Thursday. Check them all out- you might be inspired to visit someplace new and learn some great tips for your own IG photos. I took one of Katja’s recent tips and checked out the hashtag of where we’re going next-another Center Parc.

After many weeks of the boys begging and pleading- we booked a second trip to a Center Parc here in Europe. Our first experience was at Trois Forêts in Moselle, France over the winter- and it was a HUGE hit. Center Parcs are a very popular attraction, and no wonder. They truly have something for everyone in the family. I have yet to see anything like this in the US, which is a shame. These are incredible!

What are Center Parcs?

There are twenty of these ‘villages’ in Europe and four in the UK. Each of them are set on many acres of forest surrounded by lakes, streams and completely away from city life. It’s popular to stay in one of the cottages and spend your entire vacation right in the village. Focus is on nature and indoor/outdoor physical activities with everything from sailing and swimming to zip lining and bowling.

We love having so many Center Parcs in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Germany to choose from. We can easily get to any of these from home in the NL, so for our next visit we narrowed it down by planning a stop over in Luxembourg. The closest one on that route is Germany’s newest park, Bostalsee. Can’t wait to let the twins in on the surprise that this is where we’re celebrating their third birthday! (side note- I have learned my lesson and won’t be telling them where we’re going until we pull into the parking lot.)

From our France trip, this is a giant ‘water tree’ in Aqua Mundo. The guys loved the attached water slide:

There are also indoor games galore. A family favorite was the video game room:

Since I didn’t have that many IG pics of my own, I scouted out the IG #centerparcs for some different perspectives and wasn’t disappointed. Looking at all of these great pics has me really looking forward to our trip! All villages are a little different, but the overall philosophy (and fun) is the same. There are over 40,000 IG photos tagged with #centerparcs. If you’re heading to one for the first time you might want to check out what’s in store for you. Don’t be surprised at the number of ‘countdown to Center Parc’ pics either- people can’t wait to get here!

Here’s to expecting this again 🙂

slA must-have nap after a tough day at the Center Parc.

Have you ever been to a Center Parc?

A very special thank you to all of the Center Parc loving IG-ers that shared their photos with me! Great galleries all around from @bo7asson, @jack_cochrane, @scholtefoto, @holly_whetnall, @bttn80 & @niamhcleland.

Hop over to check out the rest of these great IG travel posts linked up on Skimbaco Lifestyle and find great tips for the week.

Shame to admit, I’ve actually never heard of Center Parcs… Thanks for the tip, this is something I could see us doing when the kids are just little older.

They sound perfect for families – it’s unfortunate that we don’t have something similar in North America.

Agree. The closest thing in comparison doesn’t do it justice.

I’m loving these kinds of parks. We have been to Rompot parks a few times and had a great time…! I usually post my photos after I’m back though, you know so someone doesn’t figure out we’re gone and come rob our house. Yeah… I’m a New Yorker, I’m not sure how long it’ll take for me to ‘rehabilitate’…. 🙂

No kidding- that’s smart! I’m not sure how long that will take either 🙂 Thanks again for stopping in.
