Summer Plans in Europe & Beyond

As our second summer approaches (I refuse to admit that it is here since the weather seems to disagree), I’m filling our calendar and looking ahead to all of the things we want to do. I’m going to kick my worries to the curb regarding a house for the moment, and just concentrate on the here and now. So in addition to some travel plans, we’ve also got some fun things going on right in town.

Sunflowers in DordogneThis year in Dordogne I want to run through them.

June

I know, June is almost over. But the boys are still in school and we have birthday parties and school field trips to keep me us busy. Today, we have friends arriving from Bamberg, Germany for the weekend. Very excited! We pick up their bikes tomorrow and I want to take them to the La Trappe brewery for lunch. Then my husband heads to Minnesota for the week. Waaah.

July

Right from the start we have end-of-school year parties. The parents of the class will have a get together on the 5th, and FUN— the theme this year is America! How awesome is that?! I’ll be making a big batch of Applebee’s Perfect Margarita to share with people who have never experienced such a thing. The boys are done the 11th, and we’re free!

We have  quick pop into Paris en route to Dordogne, where we spent a week last year- we’re all very excited. This year the boys can swim better, so that will be wonderful. We come home and the next day the Grandparents arrive from Michigan, and the following day my husband and I celebrate 8 years of wedded bliss for four days in Ibiza! Talk about insanity- if that isn’t enough, we come home and the next day I leave for my 20th high school reunion in Michigan. I am guessing I will return properly exhausted and feeling old.

August

The boys head back to school the 25th, so depending upon what adventures we can come up with- I’ll report back. I am assuming my housing obsession will have hit a fever pitch by that point, so who knows. I might just hang out under my bed plotting how we can squat here and not have to leave our house.

So crazy how when you list the months out like that it feels like summer is over. What are you summer plans??

Our summer plans are still up in the air. Hopefully a trip to Lancaster, PA for some kiddie fun. I’m headed to NY for a blogger event with friends and then there is talk of a cruise to Bermuda.

I feel the same way about summer, as I list things out the time seems to be over before it has begun.

sounds like you have a great summer ahead of you. We just got to swim in our pool for the first time last night so I’m looking forward to many more days like that!
